It's the spring of 1940 and scores of German divisions are flooding across the borders of France, Belgium and Holland.
Lock 'n Load: Heroes of Blitzkrieg featured the French and Belgian Armies in the defence of their nations, and now its expansion module, In Defeat, Defiance brings the heroic exploits of the British Expeditionary Force (B.E.F.) and the Dutch Army to the forefront as they attempt to withstand the fierce onslaught of the Wehrmacht, the fearless Fallschirmjagers, and the notorious SS.
As the Dutch, you'll defend Queen and country during the first hours of the Blitzkrieg. Take on Fallschirmjager Regiment 2 at the Ypenburg Airfield and, later, Regiment 1 at the bridges in Dordrecht and Rotterdam. You'll also attempt to hold the all-important Grebbeline against a thrust by elements of the SS Standarte Der Fuhrer. Will the outdated Lewis Gun and M.07/12 machine guns, 47mm ATGs and the handful of M39 armoured cars be strong enough to sustain Fortress Holland? The swarming Stukas overhead may have an important say in the matter.
In Belgium and France, the B.E.F. takes up arms. From their counterattack at Arras to the defence of the Channel ports, the proud British will not go down without a fight. In ten scenarios - eight of which were designed by Lock 'n Load scenario wizard Dale Holmstorm (Swift & Bold and Not One Step Back) - the British, armed with Bren and Vickers machine guns, 25mm and 2-pounder ATGs, 51mm mortars, Bren Carriers and Vickers, Matilda II and Cruiser A10 tanks, will attempt to hold out as long as they can against the overwhelming advance of their German counterparts. You may know the history, but here's your chance to live it.
Module includes:
- 170 Counters, including the British, Dutch and German Fallschirmjagers.
- Module Rules
- 14 Scenarios (in a manual)
You must own Lock 'n Load: Heroes of the Blitzkrieg in order to play In Defeat, Defiance.
